THE CONTEST

Open to all students, graduates, researchers and/or faculty members from all Academic Institutes and Research Centres.

The purpose of the contest is twofold:

  • to recognize excellence and innovation within academic projects;
  • to bridge the gap between the academic and the industrial world.

The The Prize-Giving Ceremony will take place at the International CAE Conference and Exhibition, to be held in Vicenza, Italy, on October 8th and 9th 2018.

PRIZES

All selected posters (the finalists) will be displayed at the Conference and their authors (max. 2 representatives for each poster) will be given the opportunity to participate in the International CAE Conference & Exhibition initiatives (logistics will be at their own expense).
A shortlist of particularly commendable posters will be identified from among the finalists. Their authors (max. 1 of the two Poster representatives) will be recognized for their contribution and will have their expenses partially covered (travel/board and accommodation).

Furthermore, each of the 5 winning Posters awarded at the International CAE Conference Awards Ceremony will receive a prize, courtesy of the sponsors.

How to enter

To enter the contest, you need to complete the on-line application form below by 5th September 2018 and upload the pdf file of the poster. Note that the Poster needs to be uploaded at the same time that you complete the application form.

The “Poster Award” is an initiative to help disseminate and encourage the adoption of Simulation Based Engineering and Sciences skills.
The Prize Giving Ceremony will take place at the International CAE Conference and Exhibition, held in Vicenza, Italy, on October 8th and 9th 2018.

This International contest has been established to recognize and reward the use of CAE Technology, through creatively illustrated posters.
The purpose of the contest is twofold:

  • to recognize excellence and innovation within academic projects;
  • to bridge the gap between the academic and industrial world.

This contest is open to students, graduates, researchers, and / or faculty members, such as professors, from Universities and Research Centers.
Participation is free.
Note: Authors of conference papers, which have been accepted, may participate in the award only if presenting a different work from that selected for the conference.

1. Topics

The subject of the poster is open and is not limited to a particular industrial sector, however each poster entry submitted must focus on a study / research / project / case study where one or more CAE simulation software, commercial and / or open source, has been used.

2. Poster dimension

Posters are to be submitted in English, and are required in the following dimensions and format: width 70 cm, height 100 cm, pdf format at 150 dpi.

3. Poster features

The Poster must contain the following information:

  • Title of the project / research;
  • Targets of the project / research;
  • Obtained results;
  • Author / authors of the poster and their affiliations

By participating in this contest, universities / research centers and individual entrants consent to the use of their personal data (name, surname, and association to the institution), the poster and its contents, and the acquisition and dissemination of photographic, digital, audio, video and multimedia materials, obtained within the activities related to the event, including any subsequent edition, for promotional and informational purposes. Furthermore, the author(s) agree(s) and authorize(s) the organizers of the contest to use their own image(s).
All Media and Materials in relation to the contest and conference can be used in any form and will be freely accessible on the web.

4. How to enter

To enter the contest you need to complete the on-line application form, available in the "Poster Award" section of the website www.caeconference.com by 2018, 5th September and, at the same time, upload the pdf file of the poster.

5. Scientific Committee

A scientific committee, composed by experts of virtual simulation and a representative from each Poster Award sponsor, will be appointed and evaluate the poster entries.

6. Preliminary selection

By 15th September the scientific committee will evaluate all poster entries and select the finalists.
All selected posters (the finalists) will be exhibited at the conference and their authors (max.2 representatives for each poster) will be given the opportunity to participate in the initiatives held at the International CAE Conference & Exhibition (logistics will be at their own expenses). Authors are required  to register for the conference (the finalists will be notified by e-mail along with the registration instructions).
Among the finalists, a shortlist of particularly commendable posters will be identified, whose author(s) (max.1 from the 2 Poster representatives) will be recognized for their contribution and acknowledged with partial coverage of expenses (travel/board and accommodation).

7. Final Voting and Winners

Among the finalists, the winners will be identified with an on-line voting system.
Registered users (anyone who has registered to vote) and members of the Scientific Committee will be allowed to participate in the voting. Different weights shall be attributed to the two categories of users:

  • registered users: weighting factor 1;
  • members of the Scientific Committee: weighting factor 3.

8. Awards Ceremony

Authors of the finalist posters are encouraged to attend to the awards ceremony, to be held at the International CAE Conference,  late Monday afternoon of October 8th.
One author for each finalist poster will need to confirm and guarantee his/her presence during the ceremony.

9. Prizes

All selected posters (the finalists) will be displayed at the conference and their authors (max. 2 representatives for each poster) will be given the opportunity to participate in the International CAE Conference & Exhibition initiatives (logistics will be at their own expenses).

Furthermore, the 5 winning posters awarded at the International CAE Conference Awards Ceremony will receive a prize, courtesy of the sponsors.
In the instance where a winning poster is attributed to a group of authors, the prize will be given to the entire group of authors or to the group designated author.

10. Liability

The organizers of the contest (Consorzio TCN as promoter and sponsor) cannot be held liable in the event when the contest is to be postponed to a later date, interrupted or cancelled. The organizers have the right to cancel the contest without prior notice and at any time.
The acceptance in the contest is at the discretion of the organizers, and in any case Consorzio TCN reserves the right to exclude any submission from the contest, in its sole discretion, posters deemed unsuitable.
Consorzio TCN assumes no responsibility for the loss or damage of the submitted material, in any format, and will not be liable for any damage, incidental or consequential, including, without limitation, lost profits or any form of advantage, even economic, arising from improper use of information or materials, contained and disclosed in the posters.

11. Participants' obligations

Participation in this contest implies a  full and unconditional acceptance of these terms and conditions.
